About Us

Fenix BJJ Team was founded by Ronaldo Campos, a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu who has been training for more than twenty years.

An MMA fighter with more than 10 professional fights throughout the world; Ronaldo held the Cage Rage, UK Welter Weight Belt in 2003.

I’m a part of the Fenix BJJ family, I’m also a Green Beret Vet. I haven’t felt as close to a group like this since I was in the military. They are my extended family... with my time with them I Won double gold at the Boston Open compete by as a blue blue belt when in fact I’m actually a white belt... I won my division, then competed again in the open class and won gold there too! Thanks to the training and progressive techniques that are taught here everyday! Without consistency nothing is possible, this school makes you wanna go each and everyday with ease, and honestly I find myself counting the secs in the day till I can go train!!! I love my team, and encourage anyone interested in finding the final piece missing in your life, you couldn’t find a better school!

This isn't just a great facility with amazing coaches and training partners. This is a home for your tribe. I've met some of the kindest and most genuine people here, who I'm now lucky to call my friends. The coaches have fostered a great environment, where team and family have become synonymous. We help one another and we look out for each other. Jiu-jitsu is a great outlet and a great workout. It teaches you many lessons that not only apply on the mat but in everyday life. If you stick with it, you will get in better shape, your endurance will get better, you will be more humble, you will be kinder, you will have more confidence and you will develop more patience. Those are facts. Stay here long enough, you will also find a tight knit family bond. All in all, Jiu-jitsu will enhance your life, and this is the perfect place to get involved.

My 6th grade son has been practicing/training at Fenix BJJ, in Woburn since January 2018 and he loves it and enjoys the classes. Coach Ron and all of the Coaches there are really professional and passionate about the art/sport and really care about their members and about endorsing respect, positive attitude, hard work, and team spirit into the culture of the gym. Also, Coach Chase (my son’s primary coach) does a great job at leading my son and his peers to work hard, to work together, and to challenge themselves and one another while keeping it fun and being patient. The other Coaches do a great job at it as well. I feel lucky to have found this gym for him, where the environment is positive and supportive/encouraging; and it was even better that I found one that in my opinion ranks high on cleanliness and/or odor, in comparison to other gyms.

I've been part of the Fenix BJJ family for almost 3 years now and it's my second home. The coaches are excellent and extremely technical and higher ranked teammates are always willing to help out. Coach Ronaldo Campos has created an open and welcoming atmosphere to everyone of all backgrounds, orientations, shapes and sizes that walks through the door. Fenix also has a great group of women to train with. My teammates have become a second family to me and Jiu Jitsu has encouraged me to be healthier in other aspects of my life. Training at Fenix with excellent coaches and teammates has helped shaped me into being a better human. We need more of that in this world.
